Internship Report - Philipp Shaltout of bdp Bormann, Demant & Partner

In 2022, EuropeFides launched an Internship Programme. The framework gives young professionals of member firms the opportunity to work az another EuropeFides member firm for a limited period of time.
Philipp Shaltout of bdp Bormann, Demant & Partner Berlin was the third intern to participate in the programme. In the fall of 2023, he spent two months at RGW CONTENT Audit GmbH in Wiesbaden. In this article, Philipp shares his experience of the internship.

My name is Philipp Shaltout and I have been a part of EuropeFides founding member bdp Bormann, Demant & Partner for over 4 years now. In the fall of last year 2023, I was granted the opportunity to participate in the internship program as the third employee within the EuropeFides network.

I had long since decided to take part, as I wanted to take this rare opportunity to get to know a new company without having to leave my previous employer. It was also a chance to broaden my horizon and provide new impulses for both bdp and my internship partner.

After a few applications and interesting chats with a number of EF-members, my path led me to RGW CONTENT Audit GmbH in Wiesbaden. Thanks to the warm welcome from Frank Gerlach, Andreas Kuhn and the other colleagues there, I was able to settle in quickly and always felt very happy during the two months of my internship. Of course, there was no shortage of work and I was immediately involved in interesting projects in RGW's auditing department.

As a native Berliner, the EuropeFides internship was an exciting opportunity for me to get to know a part of Germany that I hardly knew before, with beautiful cities such as Heidelberg, Mainz, Frankfurt and Mannheim, very close to the RGW headquarters in Wiesbaden. The two months flew by and it was not easy to say goodbye after such an informative and enjoyable time. In the following busy season at bdp, I was able to immediately put into practice and show how much I had learned in Wiesbaden.

All these factors made my internship in Wiesbaden a great success and I can only thank bdp and RGW for giving me this unique opportunity. I can only recommend any young employee within the EuropeFides network to take this chance as well.

Philipp Shaltout has been part of bdp - Bormann, Demant & Partner in Berlin since 2019, first as a dual student in business and auditing and then full-time in the Audit & Tax department. In October and November 2023, he completed the EuropeFides internship in cooperation with RGW CONTENT Audit GmbH in Wiesbaden.

Since April 2024, he has been working at bdp as a working student in combination with his Master's degree in F.A.C.T. (Finance, Accounting, Corporate Law & Taxation).
